The next Star

His name and his music are turning heads in Babcock University, and at the moment, he’s just starting. His new single titled “Dobale” featuring Kizz Ernie is a jam that is making its way to charts and is already on the iTunes store. I was granted the privilege to have a short talk with this budding star who is popularly known as “Laime” on the 29th of March, 2015, two days before he officially dropped his earlier mentioned track. He’s one to look out for on the rap scene, before you look for him, enjoy getting to know him through this interview.
Name: Bennibor, Onisolaime
Age: Old enough
What was growing up like for you: Growing up was chilled, it was a simple setting, nothing extraordinary. My mom and I are real close, my dad and I can be shaky at times, but we’re still good. My parents of five children. I went through all the normal Christian stuff a Christian family does – pray, study, pass in school, and stuff like that.
How did you start with music: I started as a singer back in JSS 1, I didn't do rap at all back then. I sang till JSS 3 then when I changed schools in SSS 1, my new school didn't really appreciate singing, singing couldn't grab a crowd like that, so I started with rap through freestyling in the second term of SSS 1. I’m still good at freestyling till now cos’ I’m the not really the patient type, that’s also why I’m not so good at writing. That’s pretty much how I started.
Who do you have as a role model: J. Cole … hands down.
Everyone is venturing into music these days, what do you think makes you special? I’m Laime, that’s why.
Who would you like to feature?  Definitely J. Cole or maybe Jay Z
Should we expect an album? Later on sha, but I’ll drop enough songs to satisfy my fans before that.
What do you do other than music? I just chill, I don’t like stress.
How do you mix music and schoolwork? Simple, I don’t. My schoolwork isn’t all that good, but I try my best. I really don’t think that the people who say you can conveniently mix both are being truthful, because you’re likely to lack behind in one of the two, but I do my best though.
Who are the kind of people you roll with? I roll with my long-term friends, I don’t really roll with anyone who tried to befriend me after my first song dropped.
Relationship status: Single
Any scandals or rumors about you yet? If yes, could you tell? There was actually this rumor that… *scratches head*, never mind, I don’t want to cast myself. Next question please.
What do you think of your fan base, too small or too big? It’s growing.
Something most people don’t know about you?
Any problems with female fans? They just want to talk too much sometimes, and it can be a bit annoying.
Where do you see yourself in a few years?  I would just be at a point where when I’m about to drop a song, I wouldn't need to say I’m about to drop a song.
Big ups to anyone? Big ups to my Momsi, she has always been helpful. Also, I wanna thank my guys, I mean, we've been broke together. Big ups to everyone that listens to me, you guys are great.

On Fake Living

Good day to all of y'all, today i'll be putting on my thinking cap, and i'd advise you to do so too.
Well, being a student of a school as popular as Babcock University is has it's upsides and it's downsides. Sometimes, the things i see make me happy, for instance, there's this girl who literally lives for Christ and is a popular socialite at the same time. Anyone who knows these two things knows that they are as hard to mix as oil and water. Trying to strike a balance between Jesus and being popular can be a really tough call, but this girl does it effortlessly.
Anyways, what i want to talk about is how fake people are getting these days. The thing about a fake item is that it doesn't last long. The same thing applies to humans. Well, i don't mean fake people literally die quickly, but their lives fade off quickly because they live in the shadow of what the society compels them to be. I think it's just sickening to thing that many young adults like me find it difficult to make their own positive decisions without referring to what "that girl" or "that boy" would think. I personally just want to advise most people to be themselves without necessarily looking towards the norm. I really hope this post changes a lot of things, cos' it get's freaky when you see a girl dressed up like the offspring of a rodeo clown and a biological wonder, just to keep up with some fads that barely make any sense at all.
Before i buzz of, Nate Igho says I should tell the world that he actually looks better than the picture of him on campusheathq.com , and to follow Ibukun Joyce on twitter, look up @IbukunJoyce. Follow me on twitter @jojo_deeee for more info on what's what.Till the next post...keep on keepin' on!

Victory At Last

Good day everybody, it's been a particularly hectic day for me here in Babcock University, but i had a smile on my face for most of the day thanks to yesterday night's win over Manchester United. In all fairness to them, the Man. United players played superbly well, but their form was ruptured by ours, and to say that brings me joy would be an understatement. iv'e had more than my fair share of torment as an arsenal fan, due to our nine year trophiless run and poor runs of form for my team, but yesterday night hopefully marked a turnaround in our fortunes at the Emirates. 2006 was the last time we ever emerged victorious at the Theater of Dreams (Old Trafford) and the glory of our victory was crowned not necessarily by the scoreline or the victory but by the scorer of the winning goal - Daniel Welbeck who sealed the win for Arsenal with a superb dribble and a slick finish. It was amazing to see the player who was deemed surplus to requirements by Manchester United Coach Louis Van Gaal , seeing his old club off from the F.A Cup.
I congratulate all the players and members of staff of Arsenal Football Club of England on reaching the semi- finals of the F.A Cup, and hope the best for them in their subsequent matches.
Till the next time don't forget to keep defying  the odds and proving that nothing is impossible like the Arsenal players did last night. Don't forget to follow me on twitter for insightful tweets on my posts and general issues @jojo_deeee

The Generation of Pro-Active Youth

Good day people of the world, I want to personally apologize for the "break in transmission". I've been off the blogging world for a few weeks due to a few reasons i can't put in detail right now.
For a few years now, I've seen the generation of Youth that belong to being subjected to criticism concerning bad behavior, drug peddling, rudeness, disregard of rules, the list of atrocities we are accused of is literally endless. True as these accusations might be, I have noticed something about the category of teenagers and Young adults i was born into. This is the thing that sets us apart from other generations of Youth  .
The separating factor is the "Pro-Active" nature of today's Youth. Today, we no longer have Youth who wait for things to fall into place for them, but rather go ahead into the world to make reasonable and legitimate money(As far as I know) . I'm not discussing what the Youth do with their money (because I understand how riotously we young people spend money when it gets into our hands) , rather i'm discussing and celebrating the people who have shown enough courage to try to make a living at such young ages . Sometimes, these people combine talent, effort, time, studies with parental assistance, and sometimes they are even active without the latter factor.
Such people are exemplary and I would list a few who are within the wingspan of my knowledge.
1. David Nwalupue , David Odize, and Adeola Sonoiki, who form the 3 kings empire have teamed up     to organize monster social events and soccer tourneys @DavidLupee @AdeolaSonoiki_
2. Dada Olayinka, Boluwatife Omoworare, Olowojoba Emmanuel and co. who make up Dwave             Clothing - a great, youthful clothing line @OTUNBA_22 @MC_OLOWOJAY
I'LL MENTION THE REST ON MY TWITTER PAGE, FOLLOW @jojo_deeee ...till then , keep it real. Peace!!!
